I am a composer, sound designer and software developer with credits spanning games, television and film. I specialize in creating orchestral music blended with subtle synthesized and “found” sounds. I especially enjoy game audio and adaptive, non-linear composition. I’m also a recovering horn player who’s performed on bass, guitar, violin and piano.
I was trained through Berklee College of Music, where I studied film scoring, arranging and orchestration. I have worked with video game studios large and small, with filmmakers, production houses, animators, and with other composers and musicians. Aside from custom work, some of my general work is represented in sound libraries and in the catalogs of licensing agencies, resulting in numerous video game, advertising and broadcast television placements in which I am only indirectly involved.
I am also a software developer, and have shipped titles in multiple languages and across multiple platforms. I was a Principal Scientist at Adobe, and now operate a small independent game and mobile app services company called Sevenchord Studios. Under that banner, I provide music, audio engineering, sound design and audio middleware programming services employing engines and tools such as Unity, Unreal, Microsoft XNA, and Flash in conjunction with wWise, FMOD and my own custom libraries.
Work Queries
Commissioning custom sound and/or music is often less expensive than purchasing rights to stock music or library sound effects, and it gives developers and producers influence over the music’s direction, nets custom audio written for specific art assets, and produces music and sound that can’t be bought by competitors. I’m always happy to create custom audio on demand.
Since the effectiveness of video game sound design and interactive music hinges largely on the coded implementation, I am also available for audio implementation engagements in C/C++, Objective-C, Unity (C# or JS), and involving middleware such as FMOD or wWise.
